Real Madrid team news vs Huesca: Predicted line up – Toni Kroos injury update
Real Madrid have a string of injury problems ahead of their trip to face Huesca in La Liga this Sunday afternoon.
Los Blancos have struggled in 2018/19 and currently sit in fifth place, though they are starting to close the gap on the leaders following a crucial victory over Valencia.
Toni Kroos is the biggest worry for boss Santiago Solari after the German midfielder confirmed he is suffering with a knee injury.
On Twitter, he confirmed: “Quick update: Still working on my knee problems after the Roma match. Back asap (as soon as possible) as always.”
Kroos’ injury woe – along with the continued absence of Casemiro – has meant Marcos Llorente and Dani Ceballos have enjoyed game time.
The pair are likely to start alongside Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric in the midfield trio on Sunday.
Lucas Vazquez will be deployed on the right wing, Karim Benzema up front, and a fully-fit Gareth Bale is set to start on the left flank.
Nacho is out for Real Madrid, though they should be able to start a full-strength backline.
Marcelo has shown no adverse effects after returning from injury recently, while Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane will partner each other in the middle.
Dani Carvajal is set to start at right-back, with former Chelsea stopper Thibaut Courtois between the sticks ahead of Keylor Navas.
Predicted Real Madrid team vs Huesca
(4-3-3) Courtois; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo; Modric, Llorente, Ceballos; Vazquez, Benzema, Bale.
