Man Utd news: Sky Sports pundit makes brutal Paul Pogba verdict about Red Devils problems
Those are the thoughts of Sky Sports pundit Mark Schwarzer, who has been thoroughly disappointed each time he’s played for Manchester United.
Pogba was booed by some sections of the Old Trafford crowd as United were held by Arsenal in a thrilling 2-2 draw on Wednesday.
The Frenchman has often been made to be a scapegoat for United’s failings over the past few seasons.
While accepting Pogba tries very hard, Schwarzer thinks the midfielder is the root cause of United’s problems.
“The playmaker is key. Who is their playmaker at the moment?,” Schwarzer said on The Debate.
“The one player who is trying to be a playmaker but is not is Paul Pogba.
“When you saw him at Juventus, he was playing alongside Pirlo.
“When you talk about France, he has got Griezmann in the side.
“At Manchester United, he is the man that tries to create things, tries to start things.
“He can do it every now and then.
“He’s not someone you go to every time.
“I’ve seen him against France and Germany and he played very well.
“If you ask someone to do it all the time, he’s not comfortable doing it.”
United will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend.
They host strugglers Fulham tomorrow (3pm).
