Man Utd news: Jesse Lingard questions Jose Mourinho about THIS after Arsenal draw

were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Arsenal on Wednesday, with Lingard rescuing a point for the hosts.

The Gunners’ point means they have extended their unbeaten sequence in all competitions to 20 games.

United on the other hand have gone backwards under Mourinho and find themselves 20 points adrift of Manchester City.

Mourinho conceded earlier this week that it will be a “miracle” if United were to finish in the top four.

But Lingard has taken exception to this and challenged his boss.

“Yeah, I think we believe as a squad,” he said.

“There’s a long way to go in the season, so for us it’s about taking every game as it comes and trying to get the three points.

“That’s the main thing. There are a lot of games, especially this month, so we need everyone in the squad to be fully fit.”

Lingard believes that United’s mentality will help stand them in good stead.

“I think it’s always been something about us that we never give up,” he added.

“You’ve seen over the years the comebacks that United have made, so for us to just keep that spirit alive and never give up is great.

“I felt we deserved more. We worked hard throughout the game.

“Everyone who came off the bench showed their fighting spirit.

“We’re in it as a team.

“We had to put on a performance for the fans and show the passion on the pitch for them.”
