Liverpool and Man City threatened by Premier League rival in hunt for £25m wonderkid

Trabzonspur wonderkid Omur, 19, is wanted by the two leading sides in the Premier League.

He is one of the hottest properties in European football after a series of dazzling displays in Turkey over the past year.

The midfielder is valued at around £25million having been dubbed the ‘Turkish Lionel Messi’.

But Express Sport understands that Liverpool and City will be joined in the race by Bournemouth.

That’s despite City and Liverpool both scouting Omur and the Cherries having spent £19m on Dominic Solanke this window.

Omur recently addressed the rumours linking him with Liverpool, and didn’t rule out a move to Anfield.

“Liverpool is a very important club,” he said.

“But the most important thing is Trabzonspor’s interests. If my club tell me that I can go, I’ll go.

“And if they tell me to stay, I’ll stay. We’ll see.”

It’s believed that Liverpool will only make a move should they lose Adam Lallana.

There has been interest for the England international from former club Southampton and Turkish side Fenerbahce.

Lallana has been out recently with a minor injury and missed Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Brighton on Saturday.

But boss Jurgen Klopp hopes he will be fit for the home Premier League clash with Crystal Palace next Saturday (3pm).

“We are in close contact and it’s just a shame for Adam,” Klopp said.

“It’s not serious, he’ll probably be available for next week. It was only a little thing but it was enough to put him out of the Wolves game.

“Of course it’s not nice, who would like that after the season he’s had? But you can’t change things that happened a day ago or an hour ago.

“You have to deal with it and he’s dealing well with it, he won’t lose confidence. He’s been confident in all the sessions and has helped us a lot. He is a very mature person, it’s all good.

“It’s unlucky and a real shame that it happened. We were all like: ‘Oh no, please don’t do that.’

“It’s always bad when you lose a player but especially at this moment. Nobody likes it but you have to deal with it.”
